Terms of service

Effective 2026-05-13

These terms govern your use of Rollcall. They will be reviewed by counsel before public launch; the substance below reflects the agreement that applies today. By signing up or continuing to use the service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

Eligibility

Rollcall is an adults-only service. You must be 18 or older to create an account or use the platform. By signing up you affirm that you meet this requirement and that you will not upload any photo, video, or other media that depicts a minor in any context. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate this requirement and to report violations to law-enforcement authorities where required by law.

Conduct

  • Be honest about your belt and years of training. Misrepresenting rank may result in account removal.
  • Don't harass, threaten, or doxx other users.
  • Don't post sexual or violent content.
  • Don't post any media that depicts a minor. Suspected child-sexual-abuse material is reported to NCMEC and to law enforcement.

Account

  • We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.
  • You retain ownership of your content. You grant Rollcall a license to display it within the product.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post. You grant Rollcall a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except to the extent the content has been reshared by others or where we are required to retain it by law.

You are responsible for your content. You represent that you have the rights to share it and that it does not violate any third party's rights or the conduct rules above.

Copyright (DMCA)

If you believe content on Rollcall infringes your copyright, email a takedown notice to legal@rollcall.app including: a description of the work, the URL of the infringing content, your contact info, a good-faith statement that the use is not authorised, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate, and your physical or electronic signature. We will respond promptly and follow the DMCA counter-notice process where applicable.

No professional advice

Rollcall is a training log and community product, not a medical, legal, or safety-advice service. Content posted by us or by other users is not professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional (doctor, coach, lawyer) before acting on anything you read here.

Assumption of risk & disclaimer

Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a contact sport. Training carries inherent risk of injury. You assume all risk associated with your training and any interactions arranged through Rollcall (including in-person meetings, drilling sessions, and dates). Rollcall does not verify identity, belt rank, or background of other users beyond what they self-report.

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rollcall and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100) or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rollcall and its operators from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these terms.

Termination

You may delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if your use creates risk to other users, or if required by law. On termination, the licence you granted us to display your content also terminates, subject to the retention rules in our privacy policy.

Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, except where a small-claims court has appropriate jurisdiction. You and Rollcall each waive any objection to venue and personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in-product banner before the change takes effect. Continued use of Rollcall after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
